Div. or equivalent Experience: 1-2 years serving in a ministry Status: Full Time Compensation: Commensurate with experience Start Date: ASAP Who we are: We are a predominantly Asian American church (Burmese) under the umbrella of the American Baptist Churches USA denomination. We are a local, cultural, family-oriented community church of about 150 members. We are looking for a pastor to serve as the primary leader of a young English-speaking congregation. Ministry Purpose: To proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach Biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care, provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and function, supervise church staff and volunteers, and conduct the ordinances and functions of worship. Serving Relationships: The Pastor serves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Church Body. He/She will collaborate with leaders of the church. The English pastor will work under the leadership of the senior pastor. Primary Functions (Responsibilities include but not limited to the following): • Vision & Strategy • Leads the congregation in effective programs to fulfill the Great Commission by defining yearly visions that have clarity and purpose • Develop strategy for church growth • Cultivate intergenerational and cross cultural development • Contribute to children’s ministry • Outreach and Evangelism • Inspire and equip our church community, through training and encouragement, to value evangelism for the Kingdom of God. • Develop and implement evangelism ministry strategy to reach the unconnected and uncharted individuals throughout the local community • Develop processes and systems to reach first time visitors, new members, and former members who are not currently engaged and involved in the life of our church • Leading Worship Service • Plan and conduct worship services • Plan and schedule sermon series per quarter • Prepare and deliver sermons. • Collaborate with the worship team and lead in the observance of ordinances • Lead good stewardship by encouraging faithful tithing • Equipping the Saints • Lead community bible study cell groups. • Provide one on one or group counseling/shepherding • Leads and demonstrates effective ways to witness and win the lost to salvation through Jesus Christ • Administration • Communicates with the congregation through articles or announcements, written and spoken using church newsletter, bulletins and worship services • Participates in council and committee meetings • Works with Church Corporate Officers, Deacons and other key leadership to carry out the mission and purpose of the church • Serves as Overseer/Administrator of church ministry leaders • Others: Participate in external events that our church is affiliated with like (ABC USA, Asian American Baptist Churches, BCANA, etc.) Church Bylaws: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1u6c4RGa5C7OTQKsq7akkcVUYYdyMLr20/view?usp=sharing If interested, please e-mail resume to Johnson Paw at jpaw2290@gmail.com, or Shirley Choo at choodicky@gmail.com ===================================j============================================================ |
